Perth designers take their style to Melbourne [The West Australian]

Perth menswear label Zsadar – designed by Shane Newton – is among the 17 labels that will be on show in Melbourne from March 12 to 14.

Showroom Collective, organised by The Wearer’s Right, will feature labels from countries including Colombia, China and France.

Other brands from WA on display at Showroom Collective will be Daniella Caputi’s eponymous label, and Alicia Sorgiovanni’s label, on Tour.

“The Wearer’s Right is a multi-disciplinary platform designed to showcase and celebrate the imagination, talent and range of ready-to-wear fashion available in Australia,” The Wearer’s Right explains.

“The Wearer’s Right also provides a meeting point for business, communication and inspiration.

“Our vision is simple: unite, inspire and service the ready-to-wear fashion industry.”

Showroom Collective will be on show during the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, which kicked off on Thursday and runs until March 15.

*Showroom Collective will be open from 10am to 4pm at Thousand Pound Bend, 361 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.

No Home

No Home

No Home is a film + fashion project launched in 2011 with the intent of starting a revolutionary conversation between consumers and the fashion and film industries. While fashion has long been seen as a part of film, No Home is creating a platform upon which fashion can become the point of film, encouraging design and filmmaking talent to express their creative ideas in collaboration. Screening around Australia in 2012, No Home is taking the fashion and film revolution to a new level in the form of a sweeping creative celebration of the sartorial expressed via moving image.

No Home is calling out for creatives to express their interest in participating in Australia’s national fashion + film project. The project is putting the word out for designers and filmmakers to join the fashion and film revolution in 2012, by submitting interest to nohome.tv

Successful designer and filmmaker submissions will pair with their creative counterparts to bring to life a short film, working together to direct the project from start to finish.  No Home is also asking for interest from actors, stylists, hair and make-up artists, musicians and photographers to assist in a collaborative capacity with the production side of the filmmaking process.

Hurry, hurry! Expressions of interest close September 15th, 2011 and can be submitted at www.nohome.tv
